Spanning over 55 acres of park area along the shores of the Otonabee River, Riverview Park and Zoo is proud to be Canada's only FREE accredited zoo, open daily from 8:30 a.m. until dusk all year round. 

Riverview Park and Zoo offers 25 animal exhibits with more than 40 different species and over 150 animals calling us home. Cooler autumn temperatures typically mean they can be found outside in their exhibits more often too. Consider symbolically adopting your favorite animal here at the zoo with 100% of the proceeds being directed back toward animal care, or you can also help support animal enrichment through our Amazon Wish List!  

Come brave our 80-foot super slide featured in the City's largest playground, which includes accessible playground equipment such as our wheelchair swings, and a separate Tot Lot for the smaller ones to play. Unfortunately, our 1:30 p.m. daily River Otter Enrichment sessions are on hold this week while building improvements take place, but you can still come see Splish, Boldt and Lawrence out on exhibit enjoying the sunshine. 

A reminder that fall operating hours are now in effect until the Thanksgiving Monday in October. As a result, the miniature train ride is available on weekends only, weather and maintenance permitting, and running on reduced hours from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Guest Services is only open on weekends from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. as well. Stop into the Gift Shop and take home a souvenir from your visit or start your holiday shopping early. Our popular RPZ hoodies would make the perfect gift!
